Rite-Aid to Anchor Santee Court Development

Rite Aid, one of America's leading drugstore chains, will open a new store at Santee Court, the largest adaptive reuse project currently under way in Downtown Los Angeles. The 12,000-square-foot location on the southeast corner of Los Angeles and 7th Streets is scdw
heduled to open in mid-August, 2004.

The Rite Aid will fill a critical need for thousands of residents and professionals in the Fashion District and demonstrate the commitment of major merchandisers to the rebirth of downtown Los Angeles as a vibrant living and work environment. The Grand Opening Gala of the Santee Court Development, Phase One is scheduled for May 21, 2004. This fashion, lifestyle grand opening event will be a celebration of this landmark development.

Other national retail tenants have committed to Santee Court and will be announced soon.

Santee Court will transform nine historic industrial buildings in the heart of the Fashion District into a contemporary downtown neighborhood.

The project will be developed in three phases. When complete, the project will include approximately 550 loft-style housing units and 100,000 square feet of ground floor retail. The urban setting, modern conveniences and historic charm of Santee Court will offer a refreshing alternative to suburban living. Phase One of Santee Court consists of 165 loft apartments for rent and 40,000 square feet of retail space. Initial occupancy is scheduled for May 1, 2004.

A total of 64 loft-style condominiums ranging from 800 sq. ft. to penthouse town-homes of up to 2,500 sq. ft. will be available for sale by summer 2004. An additional 300 loft apartments will be available for occupancy in 2006.

The Phase One apartments have begun leasing. Each unit features a full kitchen with state-of-the-art appliances and granite countertops, as well as large, open floor-plans with elaborate industrial windows. Residents will also have access to a rooftop pool, spa, basketball court, putting green, and garden. Rents will range from $1,300-$2,500.
